Wind Mitigation Inspection

In Florida, the portion of a homeowner's premium covering wind damage can be up to 70% of the total, depending on location.

Wind mitigation inspections on area homes are meant to determine how well your home / structure would fare in a hurricane. We look at the tie down straps connecting the walls to the rafters, we inspect the nail pattern of the roof decking, the connection and bracing of the gable ends of your home, the window openings and door openings. We record the inspection on an insurance form called “Form 1802”, adding photos where necessary to confirm certain conditions.

The first thing to know is that a wind mitigation inspection will help save you money on your homeowner’s insurance policy. We survey and inspect your home, take the photos, fill out the forms and deliver them to your insurance agent (with your permission). The exact discount you receive will depend on your insurance company.
